I downloaded windows live messenger but its sayin the shortcut msnmsngr.exe. is missing.How do i get it bck?ie 7

Go directly to the file, your shortcut is missing.

You can delete your shortcut file (Right-Click, Delete). Click "Start" at the right-bottom hand corner of your screen then click "My Computer".

Once in my computer, double click "Local Disk". If it displays the message "These files are hidden." click "Show the contents of this folder" at the bottom. Now click "Program Files", again if it states "These files are hidden." do the same.

Now, double click the folder "Windows Live" -%26gt; "Messenger". Look for the file called "msnmsgr", now right-click it and click "Create shortcut". A shortcut will now be displayed in the same directory at the very bottom.

Scroll Down to the bottom (If not already). Right-Click "Shortcut to msnmsgr" and click "Cut" and paste it onto your desktop.

Now, at your desktop rename your icon from "Shortcut to msnmsgr" to "Windows Live".

Thats done, you can now access your messenger from your desktop.

To find "msnmsgr.exe" (.exe part should be hidden, so it says "msnmsgr"). Do the following;

1. Click "Start".

2. My Computer.

3. Local Disk.

4. Program Files.

5. "Windows Live".

6. "Messenger".

7. Look very carefuly and you should see the file "msnmsgr". It should have two coloured people as a icon next to it. (Once you've found it, follow the steps above).

If you still can't find "msnmsgr", download Windows Live Messenger again and re-install. It should fix everything.

C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger

create a shortcut to msnmsngr.exe and drag it to your desktop.
