Version 6.0.3 of Messenger requires OS X 10.3.9 (fully updated "Panther") or higher, Older versions that will work with older Macs can be found toward the bottom of the right-hand column on the Messenger product page.

If its not working properly it maybe something to do with Microsoft's coding being designed to "exclude" Macs as well as being **** code.
AdiumX is better IMO, but if you really want MSN you can download from this site along with AdiumX.
