i have an idea of what their sign in is but i'm not sure if its @hotmail.com or @empal.com... how do i make sure that its their account for sure...also, how do u know when they're on.. can anyone explain what to do when ur new to this??

You have to know their correct email address first. Also remember email addresses are case sensitive. Otherwise it will just bounce back with an error message. Check any email you have received from them to get it correctly.
To add a friend to your Buddy list on Yahoo Messenger, click on "Friends" at the top of the program. Select "Add a Friend/Group" from the menu.
Type in your friend's Yahoo ID, and select the group you wish to place that friend in. If you don't wish to use the one pre-selected, you can type in your own group name.
Click OK. Repeat this process for every friend you wish to add to your list.
